Another lovely stay in July. Have to confess that we hired a jeep and so didn't spend much time around the apartments this time. When we did, it was just as good as our last stay 2 years ago. A very warm welcome again from Carol and Vassilis. (Utter nonsense to say that you only get a warm welcome if you are repeat visitors - we did last time and that was our first time) A little bit of research would tell you that the studios are very quiet and as they only sleep 2 are not really designed for families. One reason why we chose it. Had a few adventures in the jeep in the mountains on and off track, found some fabulous deserted beaches. Just devastated to hear that this may well have been our last trip to Thassos to the Aberdeen Studios with the demise of Kosmar and XL.

My son and I returned from our 8th visit to the Aberdeen Studios last month. He was 10 years old when we first went and right from the outset we were made to feel very welcome by both Carol and Vasilli. There is not a lot of children who stay here, but when they do they are most certainly made to feel welcome. We would not have returned even once if this was not the case. I also take exception to the gentleman's comments that these apartments are only for the only 55's, as I can assure you I have not reached that milestone yet!! There is a relaxing yet fun atmosphere around the pool and bar, which are kept clean and tidy. The bed linen and towels are changed on a very regular basis and rooms cleaned daily. Thassos is a beautiful, relaxing island with plenty of secluded beaches and and mountain villages to explore. All of the people are very friendly and welcoming and I have always felt completely safe when walking the streets, even late at night. If you are looking for childrens clubs and plenty of entertainment within a resort this is not for you, but if you wish to enjoy a holiday on a lovely greek island with friendly people and good food then try it.

Just back from a fabulous 2 weeks staying at the Aberdeen studios in Thassos. We were welcomed with a much needed cuppa by Carol and Vassilli as we arrived ahead of our coach which had got left behind in traffic at Keramoti. Our lovely rep arrived with our cases an hour later. I cannot commend Carol and Vassilli highly enough. Unfortunately I managed to fall over coming out of our room one evening.......there had been a torrential thunder storm earlier and the marble step was wet. No one to blame but myself there are warnings up to be careful in circumstances just as this.

Vassilli came straight away to help and being a qualified first aider took control. He bought ice for my hand which had begun to swell and kept coming back to check on me. Next morning he drove me to the health centre in Prinos and interpreted for me when we saw the doctor. My hand was fractured and I returned to big cheers complete with plaster cast and sling. I could not have had better treatment or attention if I had been royalty.I was able to enjoy the rest of the holiday even going in the pool and sitting on the step in the shallow end.Carol and Vassilli.....you are fantastic!!!!!!!!

We have visited Aberdeen Studios for the past 7 years and before we left we booked again for 2009.

Every year it is like coming home and the welcome we get on arrival is almost as if we are family.

The rooms are basic with twin beds, wardrobe, dresser and bench, there is a fridge, cupboard and sink and an electric two ring stove. The toilet facilities are basic Greek with a mirror and shelf over the sink, a toilet and shower tray. All the apartments have air con.

The apartments are kept spotless by Zoi, and the bedding and towels are changed frequently. Zoi also keeps bar at night which allows Vassilis to play with the guests.

Vassilis and Carol, his wife, are the owners. Carol is lovely, friendly and helpful and Scottish and Vassilis known as "The Boss" is Greek and organises lots of activities for the guests to join in with, or just to watch others enjoying making a fool of themselves. We have made lots of friends over the years and we all try to meet up annually at Aberdeen Studios.

Carol provides a food service all day from full English breakfasts to Greek salads and toasties, she also puts on traditional Greek soups such as lentil and bean if you want something lighter but filling.

The Aberdeen is not really suited for younger children as there is no childs pool or childrens activities but older accompanied teenagers usually fit in very well. Generally the holiday is well suited for adults who just want to relax, replenish the batteries and enjoy the laid back atmosphere.

We stayed next door at Kouros and met THE BOSS next we stayed at the Aberdeen and have since stayed in various others ,due mainly to the fact that getting a booking for the Aberdeen is difficult.BRILLIANT PLACE makes the wonderful island of Thassos even better.Will be back this year .Signed THE BIKERS

This our third time at Aberdeen Studios and will always yearn to come back for more! Carol & Vasillis always make you so welcome and encourage you to join in whatever activity is on offer and is a great way to meet other guests. We have just returned home after our third holiday at Aberdeen Studios with Carol and the 'Boss'. Once again we were made to feel one of the family and enjoyed sampling all of Carols traditional Greek food.

The apartments are spotlessly clean and Zoi made sure we had fresh linen and towels available.

The pool is beautifully maintained and there are plenty of sun loungers..... no need to put your beach towel out to save one!

There are plenty of tavernas and restaurants to suit all tastes and a fabulous little bakery that we find impossible to walk past. If you looking for a peaceful holiday this is the place. It's a little gem!

Had a brilliant time on holiday last year with my friend it was my first but definitely not my last visit to the Aberdeen studios. We had a fantastic time carol, zoe and not forgetting the "THE BOSS" made us feel very welcome, we actually felt like part olive picking he kept us very busy.

However in between the chores we had time to relax around the pool and do some sight seeing of the beautiful green island. It is a must to book early as they get fully booked very quickly so if you are thinking of booking DO IT NOW !

Believe me you will not be disappointed. Made some really good friends whilst there and we all met up again last September and have booked again for May 2007 where you can join the crazy gang.

We first went to the Aberdeen Studios in 2000 and we have been back 4 times since .We will be back in August 2006. If you want a quiet relaxing holiday then the Aberdeen Studios will suit you down to the ground.

Carol and Vassilis who own the studios cannot do enough for you. Besides Carol, Vassilis, and Zoe we have met some very nice people over the last 5 years. Thassos town is about 15 mins walk away but there are some lovely places to eat.

We usually hire a car, then on a night we like to visit other parts of the island. But it is always like coming home when we drive back into the Aberdeen. Susan & Graham, Martin & Kate.

Chose Thassos because we felt it would be the coolest of the islands in August. Before going we read many varied reviews and didn’t know what to expect.

It is a wonderful place.

The Aberdeen studios, although being a decent walk from the centre of town is in a super setting amongst olive trees. The apartments are clean and have air conditioning, which I think is most important at this time of year. The only draw back is the road at the front which has lorries carrying marble to the ferries which we found interesting - but we appreciate others may not find this so.

The owners - Carol and Vasilis along with Zoe who doubles as cleaner and bar tender couldn’t do enough for us.

Food - both at the apartments and in the town was superb and so reasonable.

We hired a car for two days and were able to explore the island without the risk of getting lost - there is basically one road which goes all the way round the island with smaller no through roads radiating off it.

For a quiet relaxing holiday with very few teenagers and children we would thoroughly recommend it. We booked for next year whilst still there - it was so good.

This was the 6th time of visiting Thassos and staying at the Aberdeen studios, on our first visit in May 2001 our daughter came with us and enjoyed it so much that she is coming with us in May 2005 with her son who will be 11 months and her boyfriend.(Our 7th time) and our son and his girlfriend came with us in august and booked to come back next august with us.

At the Aberdeen studios the couple that run it are Carol (she is Scottish) and Vaslis (he is Greek) and are lovely people and very friendly. We have also made some lovely friends both English and Greek.

The island of Thassos is a beautiful Island and we find that a lot of people who go there return many times. When we go now we are treated like locals as we have returned so many times and are always given a very warm welcome.

Why do people visit the Aberdeen year after year ? They must be doing something right. Situated on the towns outer by-pass and among olive groves the twin bedded bungalows are 20 mins away from town centre. The compact studios for 2 have shower,wc and patio area.Air condit; also available.There is a swimming pool with poolside bar which serves up mouthwatering food. The studios are run by Carol who is Scottish and Vassilis her Greek husband.

Hi, there is only one choice for Thassos,stay at the Aberdeen Studios in Thassos Town(see Kosmar holidays)

Situated on the back road it does receive a little traffic noice but nothing like the M61! !

It would take you about 20 mins to town and the nightlife with shops and numerous tavernas.

The studios are run by Carol and Vasilis.Carol comes from Aberdeen so no language problems

She does dilicious soups at lunchtime eg pea wallop! and nothing is no trouble,People come back year after year so they must have the right approach

Im sure you will have a wonderful holiday and agree with me that.............

Thassos is Greeces best kept secret..

We're also just in our 40's as well & without hesitation would recommend Aberdeen studios in Thassos Town. Thassos Town is much bigger with more choice but retains the typically Greek atmosphere without pandering to tourism.11 Bungalows in their own gardens with a lovely pool & bar selling delicious snacks. It was our 1st visit , all other couples had been there as many as 10 times & 2 couples were staying in other hotels but spent their days here. The owners are very very friendly & the atmosphere was relaxing, all the couples there were on first name terms by the second day & everyone from the couple in their 50's with their 70 year old mum , frequented the bar in the evenings, exchanging info on where to eat & drink. A Truly wonderful experience & holiday.

Studios run by Scottish lady Carol and her Greek husband Vasilis - a real character. Bungalow style accommodation - typically Greek, very basic - twin beds, en-suite shower room, wardrobe, and kitchen unit, patio with table and couple of chairs. Eleven studios in all - so small and friendly.

The complex includes a swimming pool and pool bar and is surrounded by olive trees. Lovely girl, Zoe, served behind the bar most evenings and also cleaned the studios daily. Vasilis kept us entertained in the evening. Beware of coming in the olive picking season - Vasilis will enlist your help.

There is a very humerous guidebook which suggests free tea is available - just ask for THE tea bag - but return it after 20 minutes so next person can use it - but don't damage it or you will have to pay for it! He also suggests if there is a water shortage, there will only be water in the deep end of the pool!!

Altogether a very pleasant stay. When we stayed, many of the other guests were back for repeat visits.
